The Healthway Strategic Plan 2008-2011 sets key directions for Healthway and identifies Healthway's goals and strategies (you will need Acrobat Reader to view this document).
Development of the Healthway Strategic Plan 2008 – 2011 involved:
- An extensive review of achievements over the previous Plan period;
- A comprehensive independent review of Healthway’s Health Priorities by the Health Promotion Evaluation Unit at the University of Western Australia; and
- Extensive and open consultation with a range of stakeholders across Western Australia.
The process was also significantly informed by Healthway’s involvement in the development of the WA Health Promotion Strategic Framework 2007 – 2011 and by the priorities and approaches identified through other health agency strategic planning processes.
The new Plan builds on the achievements of the previous plan and takes account of the ongoing and emerging State, National and International public health priorities and strategic approaches. In many respects the plan does not represent a radical departure from the course charted over the previous plan period, but in the period ahead, Healthway will be seeking to have a greater impact on priorities such as preventing overweight and obesity and will be focusing on some new high priorities for health promotion, such as reducing harm from risky alcohol use.
