Many Western Australian adults are eating junk food too often, a new survey has revealed. A 2022 WA Department of Health Nutrition Monitoring Survey of 1500 adults across the state showed that just over one third eat savoury junk food (fast food, hot chips, salted snacks) more than four times a week, and more than half eat sugary junk food (biscuits, cakes, lollies) four or more times a week. The survey also asked WA adults what they thought would help them eat a healthier diet, the top three answers were being given more healthy choices when faced buying a snack, if healthy food was cheaper and more options for smaller portion sizes when eating out.
